Professor Zheng is a Chinese scientist, who is known and respected all over the world, as he is the inventor of the External Counter Pulsation systems used world wide with its current characteristics and also, as he is the one who has done and published about 200 clinical and experimental studies since late 1970’s to document the beneficial effects of this treatment in cardiac and many kinds of diseases, and the underlying mechanisms of its favorable effects.
Nowadays, he is still continuing his research studies with great enthusiasm, together with his skillful team, specifically focusing on the improvement of endothelial function by ECP to document the systemic anti-atherosclerotic effects of this treatment and its impacts on preventive medicine and the prolonging of human lives.
In the meantime, he is supervising and contributing to the development of new ECP systems in China, involving more updated technological properties
I am deeply grateful to Prof. Zheng as he very kindly and generously contributed to improving my knowledge and horizon about ECP treatment, especially concerning the expanded indications of ECP and to use this unique treatment also in the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, at the time of my first visit to China in 2005, and during my following visits and our continuing correspondance.
